Alliance News | CASVI and Bosera at 2019 AVPN Annual Conference

Secretary General of CASVI Angela Bai was invited to the 2019 AVPN Annual Conference held on June 25 - 28, with Assistant Secretary-General Lana Wang and Mr.Yang Wang, Vice Manager & Fund Manager of Index and Quantitative Investment Department at Bosera Asset Management Companies.

As GIIN estimated, in 2018 the global impact investment volume was about $35 billion, while the global stock trading volume in the same year reached $68 trillion, which was 82 times as large as global impact investment in scale.

Angela Bai noted in the discussion that the scale of global impact investment remains small and pointed out three challenges needed be solved: lack of investment standards, shortage of competitive investees, and insufficient of capital supply.   

As the first new international non-profit platform that specialized in promoting sustainable finance in China, CASVI is working to solve three key challenges with its Investment Triangle Initiative.

CASVI developed “Social Value 99” A-share listed company social value assessment standard” with 53 global institutions and 99 experts, launched "Social Value 99” A-share Listed Company Social Value Rankings, Social Value Ratings and “Social Value 99” Index, and now is working with Bosera Funds to develop the first global “Sustainable Development 100 ETF Index Fund”. The fund was highly appreciated by AVPN Founder Doug Miller and CEO Naina.   

In addition, CASVI initiated “Sustainable Development Social Unicorn Accelerator” aimed at discovering good investees with high growth & high impact and “Sustainable Development Investor Lab” to discover China’s first batch of sustainable investment practitioners in China.

Prior to present at the annual conference, CASVI officially became one of AVPN members. CASVI will help advance close communication between China and Asian impact investment market, bringing more practical experience in other Asian countries to China’s investing institutions and social enterprises, and building platform for future international cooperation.
