Alliance News | CASVI Became a New Signatory of UN PRI
305
On June 14, China Alliance of Social Value Investment (CASVI) officially announces its signature in PRI as the first International NPO signatory specialized in promoting sustainable finance in China. The UN PRI is an investor initiative in partnership with UNEP Finance Initiative and UN Global Compact. It works to understand the investment implications of ESG factors and to support its international network of investor signatories in incorporating these factors into their investment and ownership decisions. The PRI acts in the long-term interests of its signatories, of the financial markets and economies in which they operate and ultimately of the environment and society as a whole. By 2018, more than 2,000 signatories from over 60 countries had represented over US$80 trillion of global assets. At present, 29 Chinese institutions become the signatories of PRI, most of which are public funds and insurance companies. As China’s first international NPO service provider, CASVI will cooperate with global responsible investing institutions to promote sustainable finance and take joint efforts to invest for a better world.
CASVI’s Investment Triangle Initiative made up of three initiatives – Social Value Assessment Development, Social Unicorn Accelerator and Sustainable Development Investor’s Lab – is designed to respectively addressing the challenges in the lack of common language, competitive investees and large-scale investment. In the future, CASVI will take the responsibility as one of PRI’s signatories, leverage the Triangle Initiative to better align with responsible investing institutions globally and transform the concept of social value into increasing sustainable development investing practices.
