2023 GBA Sustainable Finance Summit


As one of the important engines driving China's economic development, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area has been committed to exploring the path of sustainable finance development. To gather the forces of the sustainable finance sector in the Greater Bay Area and promote its rapid development, as well as to support Shenzhen in building the National Green Finance Reform and Innovation Pilot Zone and the National Climate Investment and Finance Center, and a global sustainable finance center, the "2023 GBA Sustainable Finance Summit" (hereinafter referred to as "GSFS") will be held on October 27th in Shenzhen. GSFS is hosted by Shenzhen Municipal Financial Regulatory Bureau, and co-organized by China Alliance of Social Value Investment   (hereinafter referred to as "CASVI"), 21st Century Business Herald and Shenzhen Finance Institute, CUHK(SZ).


GSFS is the flagship event of the "2023 GBA Sustainable Finance Summit Series Activities Week" initiated and guided by Shenzhen Municipal Financial Regulatory Bureau and Luohu District People's Government of Shenzhen. With the theme of “Sustainable Finance Promoting High-quality Development", GSFS focuses on five main sub-themes: "Transition Finance: Gathering Strenth to Greenness";"Information Disclosure:Envisioning the Fourth Statement"; "Belt and Road Initiative: Pioneering ESG Practices of Chinese Enterprises "; "Data and Talent Development in Sustainable Finance" and "Collaborative Dialogue on Sustainable Finance Education Between Universities and Enterprises". It aims to deeply explore the development trends and innovative practices of sustainable finance, injecting strong impetus into the sustainable development of the Greater Bay Area.

Under the theme of "Sustainable Finance Promoting High-quality Development" , GSFS will feature keynote speeches by several high-profile guests. It will also include two parallel forums and a total of five roundtable dialogues.

Parallel Forum 1:

This parallel forum focuses on sustainable finance and revolves around three main sub-themes: "Transition Finance: Gathering Strenth to Greenness"; "Information Disclosure: Envisioning the Fourth Statement"; "Belt and Road Initiative: Pioneering ESG Practices of Chinese Enterprises." It brings together forces from the government, business and academic sectors to delve into new concepts, trends, and pathways for the development of sustainable finance. The forum aims to provide suggestions and contributions to the global development of sustainable finance.


Parallel Forum 2:

This parallel forum engages in dialogues centered around "Data and Talent Development in Sustainable Finance" and "Collaborative Dialogue on Sustainable Finance Education between Universities and Enterprises." It explores ways to apply data and technology to the field of sustainable finance and strengthens collaborative efforts between academia, industry and research institutions. Practical cases and experiences will be shared among domestic and international universities, companies   and research institutions.


Cutting-Edge Achievements:

In this GSFS, research institutions such as Invest Fund,China Reform Consulting and Casvi will present the latest research findings in the field of sustainable finance. They will provide insights into global and Chinese trends and introduce original standards based on domestic innovative practices.
Financial Dialogue in the Greater Bay Area:


GSFS innovatively includes a dialogue segment between Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. It explores effective approaches to promote interconnectivity in the financial markets of the Greater Bay Area and deepens collaboration among financial institutions in the region. By joining forces from various sectors, it aims to advance the process of regional economic integration among Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau.
